Nowadays our society “shelters” numerous people who are admitted to be bisexual. Nevertheless, many of us, have no idea about this term and its meaning.
Bisexuals are those individuals who have sex with both men and women. It is said that these “collective” have to like both sexes equally. In fact, this is not really so. There is neither right nor wrong way to be a bisexual.
Every person is responsible for his/her own sexual orientation and he/she is the only one who determines his/her sexuality. If a woman dates only men, but she is attracted to women, too, she could be a bisexual. The same situation with those persons who date men, but still enjoy women.
They say that one’s sexuality is always changing over time. If a person is bisexual she /he may be attracted to men and women at different points during his/her life. The fact is that a bisexual finds the individual himself/herself attractive and not his/her gender.
Probably you have heard that bisexuals are truly promiscuous and can not maintain a committed monogamous relationship. This is further from the truth. People with this sexual preference are capable to fall in love and create a resilient relationship or a sound family.
Being bisexual might mean that the person feels attracted to both men and women but that doesn’t mean that the person is not unfaithful to his/her sex partner. Moreover, it doesn’t imply that he/she could accept another person in his/her sexual life.

You shouldn’t be, as nobody chooses his/her own sexual orientation. People just feel it, be they lesbians, straight or bisexuals. You should also take into account the fact that there is quite a prominent difference between being straight and falling in love with a person of the opposite sex and being bisexual and doing so. The latter ones are still attracted to people of the same sex and are bisexuals.
Most straight persons consider that bisexuals deny that they are, in fact, homosexuals. Unfortunately, they do not know that being bisexual is different from being lesbian or homosexual. Of course, there are cases when bisexuals could become gays or straight partners as one’s sexuality can change over time. However, most of these individuals keep their orientation alive and are not willing to change the category from one relationship to another.
These are the most common myths and false ideas about bisexuals. You should consider them and never suppress this minority group. Don’t be selfish and allow people enjoy that kind of sex they mostly like!
